GREATER Western Sydney key defender Harry Himmelberg has re-signed with the club for a further two seasons.
Arriving at the Giants as an academy selection with pick 16 in the 2015 NAB AFL Draft, the Wagga Wagga product has played 10 senior games since his debut in round 17 last year.
The 21-year-old, who is an emergency for Saturday's clash with Melbourne in Canberra, has battled injuries in 2017, but told the club's website he couldn't be happier to extend his stay at the club until at least the end of 2019.
"This is a really exciting place to be and play football," Himmelberg said.
"It's been frustrating having to sit on the sidelines with injury recently, but I'm just keen to be back on the field and put my best foot forward to return to playing in the firsts."
Giants general manager of football Wayne Campbell said he was thrilled to secure Himmelberg.
"Harry's a great clubman and a really popular member of our group," Campbell said.
"He's also developing into a quality footballer and one we see as vital to our group for a long time."
Himmelberg joins teammates Tim Taranto, Will Setterfield, Harry Perryman, Jeremy Finlayson, Matthew Flynn, Matt Buntine, Adam Kennedy, Jon Patton, Dylan Shiel and Aidan Corr in signing new deals with the Giants this season.
