The first City Hawks lunch for 2010 was held on Wednesday 31 March at the RACV Club Melbourne. The luncheon saw new presenting partner Elite Property Care unveil their new logo and providing a great presence in the room with a number of staff in attendance and guest gifts for all.

Over 240 guests attended the lunch with some travelling from as far as Shepparton to attend. With the beyondblue Cup trophy in the room, Club President Jeff Kennett, host of the City Hawks Luncheons, began proceedings with his ever-entertaining talk on what is happening in the Club and the upcoming beyondblue Cup match against Geelong.

Before the guest speakers were welcomed on-stage, guests enjoyed a succulent two-course lunch with premium Tamar Ridge wines and an opportunity to network with guests around the room.

Stuart Fox, the Club's CEO was the first of three guest speakers for the day. Being Stuart’s first luncheon as CEO at Hawthorn, it was a good opportunity for guests to hear his views and plans for the next five years.

Mark Evans, General Manager of Football Operations followed Stuart with an in-depth view into what it takes to win a Premiership and where the team is at right now. It was a great insight into the work and planning that takes place and how all the different cards must fall into place at the right times in order to even just reach the Grand Final.

Trent Croad, former Hawthorn premiership player joined Jeff for a few questions following Mark's speech. Trent spoke well about what it was like to go from winning a Premiership to an injury that removed him completely from the game.

He also spoke about preparing for life after football and the support provided by the Club in this process.

Elite Property Care donated the business card draw prizes with Wei-Shen Mak of ThoroughVisioN and James King of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation taking out the prizes on the day.

The next lunch will be held on Wednesday 26 May with Guest speakers to be announced.

Online bookings for the remaining luncheons in 2010 are open now, so make sure you get in early and book your seats for what is sure to be another entertaining lunch.
