The Gold Coast SUNS are on the journey to become the most exciting sporting organisation in Australia.  After a fantastic debut into the AFL and winning the Mayor’s Corporate Social Responsibility award in 2011, the GC SUNS are keen to keep the momentum going and make this years impact on the community  just as successful as the first.

The role of the Community Programs Officer is to work closely with the Community Programs Manager and its Community stakeholders to deliver the efficient and professional daily operations of the Community Department and coordinate key events and programs from the Community Strategy in particular, the clubs new school based program - the SHINE Schools Program.

The Community Programs Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring the KPI’s of the department are met and exceeded both within the Club and within the Community. The role will also require the successful applicant to have the capacity to work outside normal office hours from time to time due to the fact that many Community activities and player appearances will occur during this time period. 

The ideal candidate will have:

·        a strong personal brand which personifies the GC SUNS values of Bold, Fresh, Relentless, Dependable and Community;

·        tertiary qualifications in a related discipline (desirable);

·        a minimum of 2 years experience organising community events/activities;

·        a passion towards helping the community;

·        an understanding of working in a sporting environment;

·        a demonstrated ability to engage and connect with people from various backgrounds;

·        excellent attention to detail; and

·        outstanding organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities at once.
