BRISBANE Lions midfielder Justin Sherman and his management have told the Western Bulldogs that he will not play for the Sydney Swans next year under any circumstances.

Sherman has demanded a trade to the Bulldogs, although the deal hit a snag when the Swans launched a bid to win his services.

"The Lions are doing their due diligence and they're trying to get the best deal they possibly can," Dogs list manager James Fantasia told afl.com.au's Trade Week Radio on Friday.

"But Justin has made it very clear that he will only leave if he can join a club in Melbourne and he wants to go to the Western Bulldogs.

"From that point of view, we're pretty confident that we can get it done, but certainly it's in Brisbane's hands.

"They'll be meeting again this morning and going over all the facts, then waiting to see if it's the right time to move."

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are yet receive an offer from Hawthorn for Josh Hill.

The out-of-favour forward declared on Thursday that he wants to join the Hawks.

"We've had an approach from Hawthorn, which came at about nine o'clock last night," Fantasia explained.

"That was when we held our first discussion with Hawthorn about Josh Hill.

"But it has surprised me a bit that they haven't been a bit more aggressive.

"I'm not sure how serious they are about trying to get him, to be honest.

"There's no offer at the moment and there doesn't seem to be any dialogue of a serious nature."
