Everyday Heroes was born from in depth interviews across a broad range of people, including sporting professionals, actors, musicians, coaches, authors and business people.
Author David Griffin said, “writing this book has been a passion and dream of mine and it’s a rewarding feeling to have it completed after three years in progress.”
While some of the interviewees featured in the book are well known, like Western Bulldogs coach Rodney Eade, Griffin was keen to make sure a number of the unsung heroes of Australia got to share their fascinating stories also.
“You don’t need to have a public profile to be a role model to kids, there are people in our community who are doing special things,” Griffin said.
Griffin himself is doing something special, all profits of the book will go directly to Open House with the aim of raising $20,000 for the organisation.
“I had two aims for the book, they were to have kids reading the book in schools and to raise $20,000,” he said.
Hawks Rick Ladson, Beau Muston and Max Bailey have thrown their support behind the box and Griffin by attending the launch of the book earlier this month.
Everyday Heroes is available through Croxton House for $15.95 at croxtonhouse.com.au
