FORMER Hawthorn Brownlow medallist Robert 'Dipper' DiPierdomenico takes the Australian Football Experience to Port Macquarie this weekend as the footy extravaganza continues its journey around Australia.
Local families are encouraged to make their way to Town Beach Park on Sunday, March 23 between 11am and 4pm and take part in activities for all ages to celebrate Australian Football 150 Years.
Dipper will be on hand to sign autographs from 1pm-3pm.
Participants in the Big Kick goalkicking competition will have the chance to win tickets for a family of four to the 2008 AFL Grand Final, and daily winners receive an Australian Football Experience gift pack.
"Just seeing the enjoyment that the kids get out of the Australian Football Experience is the highlight for me,” Dipper said.
“I've seen some real talent with kids lining up for goal, the next Matthew Lloyd in the making, perhaps!"
Dipper said the reaction of communities to the Australian Football Experience has highlighted the impact of football throughout its 150 year history.
"It's really fulfilling for me as a past player and AFL Ambassador to see how much enjoyment that the community is getting out of having the Australian Football Experience in their home town,” he said.
“It really highlights the significance of Australian Football in connecting with the community."
The celebrations include a performance by Melbourne musician Josh Owen from 3pm.
