ESSENDON will make nine changes in total to its playing list for season 2009, after adding former top 20 draftee Tom Hislop to the five players already delisted.
Hislop, 20, joins Damien Peverill, Andrew Lee, Courtney Johns, and rookies Dean Dick and Danny Chartres as players to have been given their marching orders from Windy Hill.
Hislop was selected with pick No.20 in the 2006 NAB AFL Draft – the same intake that saw Scott Gumbleton, Leroy Jetta, Alwyn Davey, Bachar Houli and Kyle Reimers come to the club - and played seven games in total.
This year, he battled wrist, hip, shoulder and groin injuries and was restricted to just four senior games and six VFL games throughout the season.
The changes to the Bombers' playing list will include the retirements of Adam Ramanauskas, Jason Johnson and Mal Michael.
Meanwhile, 2008 rookie Jarrod Atkinson has been promoted to the senior list.
Essendon will now enter the 2008 NAB AFL Draft with five active picks, with selections five, 23, 55, 71 and 87 (or pick five in the pre-season draft), after trading selection 39 to Geelong for Brent Prismall.
