FAST FOOTY FACTS
Collingwood’s 33-point win over the Lions at the Gabba in Round 9 last season was their first ever at the venue since 1997.

Jonathan Brown and opposing forward Anthony Rocca each kicked six goals in their respective Round 1 matches over the weekend and together with Hawthorn’s Lance Franklin, they currently head the AFL’s goal kicking tally.

Co-Captain Luke Power’s nine tackles against the Eagles last weekend was the third most in the AFL for Round 1.

The Lions and Collingwood have enjoyed a fierce rivalry in recent seasons following the Lions’ victory over the Magpies in both the 2002 and 2003 AFL Grand Finals.

The Lions hold a better win/loss ratio against Collingwood than any other AFL club since 1997.

The Lions’ 93-point victory against Collingwood in Round 17 last year broke a number of team and individual records. Not only was it the club’s biggest interstate win, but Jared Brennan’s seven goals, Rhan Hooper’s 23 possessions and Jed Adcock’s four goals were all personal bests.

LAST TIME THEY MET
Forward Jared Brennan starred with a career-best seven goals and Jonathan Brown chipped in with three as the Lions soared to their fourth straight victory in the season’s home stretch.

The 93-point victory was the biggest winning margin and highest score ever recorded by the Lions against Collingwood.

Simon Black was in sublime touch and had plenty of support in the midfield from Jed Adcock, Luke Power and Nigel Lappin.

Ruckman Jamie Charman was the most influential big man on the field while pacy half-forward Rhan Hooper was another standout in attack with three goals and 23 disposals.
