Williamstown celebrates the 150 year Anniversary of Australian Rules Football on 11th May by giving free access to the Williamstown v Sandringham game.
The Williamstown Football Club would like to celebrate “Football Community Weekend” by inviting football followers to attend the 150 year Anniversary of Australian Rules Football match between Williamstown and Sandringham on Sunday May 11th at Williamstown (Pt Gellibrand Oval- Morris Street, Williamstown)(Melways Map 56 D12).
In appreciation of the great support we receive from the community it will be free admission on the day to all spectators. We encourage all sectors of the Community to attend and celebrate the great game we all love so much – Australian Rules Football.
Williamstown General Manager Brendan Curry said “The club has never thrown their gates open before but this free day will allow many new people to experience high quality VFL football on a weekend when there are no AFL matches”.
The free admission status of the game is courtesy of the generosity of our Major Sponsor Hocking Stuart (Williamstown) and particularly Director Joanne Royston and her team. Hocking Stuart (Williamstown) place a large emphasis on supporting the local community and see the widespread benefits of encouraging the people of the area to support their local football club.
We hope all those throughout the community can attend this special day of celebration for Australian Rules Football in the community and support your local team The Mighty Seagulls!
