G'day Ash, sorry you weren't there for the win. But can you ask Blacky on his thoughts about the "throw" he didn't get called for which ended up a Banfield goal? I vividly remember playing the Kangas last year and Blacky got pinged for "throwing" when replays showed great hands and was the contest that ultimately cost us the game. Good to see the boys on the winning bandwagon again and can't wait for my usual 3hr lockout with the tele at game time!
Brendan from Banksia Grove (WA)

Hi Brendan. I haven’t really seen the Blacky ‘throw’ too much but I’m sure the umpires would have thought that Blacky’s such an honest and nice bloke that surely he couldn’t throw it after what happened last time against the Kangaroos which lost us the game in the end.

Hey Ash, firstly, could you please wish young Tommy Rockliff all the best for a quick recovery, from what we all hope isn't a serious injury. I'd like to ask what traits you've seen in the young man that have seen him come from a PSD pick, to vice captaincy in the AFL within 20 games?
Ryan from Petrie (QLD)

I think Tommy has strained a calf and I don’t think it’s as serious as first thought. He’s got that real leadership quality that the group has seen and he’s been put into the leadership group so he could find himself being the captain in the future.

Hey Ash i have noticed that Luke Power hasnt been wearing his black bootes lately why is that?? And is the club still aiming to make the finals this year after only winning one game so far, or are use more looking towards next year??
Caitlyn from Bell Park (VIC)

Lukey Power’s gone away from the black boots because white ones make you look quicker. In his old age he’s doing everything he can to look quicker. Finals are still on the cards but we’re just taking it week by week this year to get some wins on the board and see where it takes us.

Hey! Just wondering if you could please ask daniel rich if he can come to my formal in June? and also i hear that you are coming up to noosa for a visit sometime soon? :)
Laura from Noosa (QLD)

I can ask Richy if he’ll go to the formal with you. He hasn’t got a girlfriend so you might be a chance. The boys are heading up to the Sunshine Coast tomorrow so I’m sure you’ll see some boys up there.

Hey Ash, great bag against Gold Coast. I know this isn't a footy question, but what is your favourite band? Please dont say something lame like maroon 5 haha.
Joel from Hallam (VIC)

I’ve always been a big fan of Pearl Jam ever since I’ve been a little kid. You’ve got no dramas me choosing Maroon 5, I don’t think I’ve really listened to their music at all.

Hey Ash, Love your work and the way your going about it. Was that you I seen at carindale eating a Big Mac?
Jack from Morningside (QLD)

Cheers Jack. No that wasn’t me at Carindale eating a Big Mac. But if you were looking around I’m sure you would have seen Jack Redden. He is always sniffing around Carindale. He’s a bit of a Carindale rat and he’s known for going there and hanging out for as long as he can.

Hey Ash, I was just wondering who came up with the title, "Ooh Aah Ash McGrath"??
Luke from Upper Mt Gravatt (QLD)

I think our media department came up with the title. It was just something that rang and everyone’s taken after it pretty well.

Tom Rockliff's mum told me once that Jonathan Brown is a complete and utter gentleman. Is this true or did Browny slip her a couple of dollars to say that?
Ros from Benalla (VIC)

Jonathan Brown is a complete and utter gentleman, when he’s asleep. Nah, he’s a nice bloke. Tommy Rockliff’s mum has popped up in my questions a fair bit lately, I think she must have slipped me a couple of dollars. Keep them coming!

Do you follow any other sports outside of AFL?
Katie from Darwin (NT)

I follow the NFL a fair bit, so hopefully their lockout ends soon so we can get back to watching it. I don’t mind watching a bit of golf when there’s a good tournament on too. And I know it’s not really a sport, but I like the F1s, I stay up late to watch that.

Hi ash, do you think pat karnezis will debut this year? You have played every other new player you’ve got!
Jim from Broken Hill (NSW)

Patty is playing pretty well in the reserves, but just like any first-year he’s got to bide his time and if a spot opens up in the team in a certain position I’m sure Pat will take it with both hands and do well like all the other young kids have.
