WESTERN Bulldogs captain Brad Johnson appears certain to line up against Port Adelaide at Darwin's TIO Stadium on Saturday night.
Johnson, 33, completed Thursday night's one-hour training session and had little concern with the ankle he reinjured against Carlton on Sunday.
"Certainly in my mind he's a starter, but I suppose he has to get through training. He trained on Tuesday and he looked OK then," coach Rodney Eade said before the session.
However, full-back Brian Lake missed the Dogs' last hit-out with what Eade described as an "upset stomach".
The 28-year-old did travel with his teammates on Thursday morning and is still expected to face the Power.
Midfielder Brodie Moles, pushing to play his first AFL game since round 12, is the Dogs' sole emergency in Darwin.
Eade said the absence of Barry Hall, who will miss the match with an ankle injury, would see a host of his teammates including Robert Murphy rotated through the forward line.
"I think we'll be fine. I've got no worries with [Barry being out]," he said.
"Obviously Barry and his talent and his ability to lead to the right spots draws the ball to him, but I think we'll rotate our forward line a lot with the number of players that play there and the position they play.
"[Murphy] went forward a little bit last week and against Hawthorn at the end of the game. He's had a few games back there so he might get another opportunity."
The Dogs host top-four side Fremantle at Etihad Stadium next Sunday; a fixture that usually occurs the week before the split round.
Eade said considerations would be given to recovery and the on-field management of players because of the turnaround from the trip and Darwin's tropical climate.
