Player Development Coach Steve Malaxos reviews the performances of Fremantle players who played in the WAFL at the weekend.

Kepler Bradley (West Perth) 14 kicks, 5 handpasses, 12 marks, 2 goals
Kepler was very good against East Fremantle’s Matt Spangher. He moved around the forward line well, lead and presented well and took some good marks. He covered a lot of ground and reaped the rewards so we were very happy with his performance.

Adam Campbell (West Perth) 6 kicks, 6 handpasses, 4 marks, 1 goal
Adam had an interesting duel with Andrew McCarrey. McCarrey limited his influence but Adam managed to be effective with what he did.

Robert Warnock (West Perth) 4 kicks, 8 handpasses, 2 marks, 16 hit outs
Robbie missed most of the first quarter due to a blood ruling. He was particularly good in the ruck and we will be looking for similar efforts around the ground in coming matches.

Matthew Carr (East Fremantle) 9 kicks, 5 handpasses, 3 marks
He played mostly in the midfield and was watched pretty close by Clayton Lasscock from West Perth. He ran and linked up well in periods. He injured his ankle which effected his game in the last quarter

Ryley Dunn (East Fremantle) 8 kicks, 7 handpasses, 2 marks, 3 goals
Ryley played quite well deep in attack. He was leading, presenting and constantly involved. We were quite happy with his performance.

Calib Mourish (East Fremantle) 6 kicks, 5 handpasses, 3 marks
Calib was pretty well held by West Perth’s Darren Atkinson. He did a lot of good team orientated things like dishing off handballs and clever knock ons. We want him to lead and present more in the coming weeks.

Brett Peake (East Fremantle) 7 kicks, 3 handpasses, 4 marks
Brett played on the wing in the first half against Callum Chambers. They had an interesting dual. He was a bit quiet in the third quarter and played deep in defence in the last quarter on Troy Longmuir and he was quite good. In some respects it was a step forward for Brett. His approach and the way he went about it indicated to us that he’s on the right path towards finding form.

Heath Black (South Fremantle) 8 kicks, 13 handpasses, 6 marks
It was Heath’s second game back. He is still approaching full fitness but we were reasonably happy with his efforts.

Josh Head (South Fremantle) 4 kicks, 4 handpasses, 2 marks
Josh played against Kane Ransted and had his hands full at times. He has been in good form lately but battled on the weekend in tough circumstances. Perth’s midfield delivered the ball well into the forward line which made it difficult for South’s defenders.

Chris Smith (Swan Districts) 5 kicks, 3 handpasses, 1 mark
Chris started on the ball and was there for most of the first two and a half quarters and was then moved into a tagging role which he performed well.

Clayton Hinkley (Swan Districts) 10 kicks, 5 handpasses, 4 marks, 1 goal
It was not one of Clayton’s busiest games but he managed to collect 15 possessions in the Swans’ three point win.
