Four Magpies have made the 2010 All Australian side announced at the Melbourne Convention Centre on Monday night.??

There were two first time inclusions including Harry O’Brien and Scott Pendlebury while Dane Swan (2009) and Alan Didak (2006) have been named both for the second time in their careers.??

Ruckman Darren Jolly, who was named in the squad of 40, did not make the final side.

It's the second highest number of Magpies to feature in an All Australian side with seven making the side in the 1990 premiership year.

The All Australian selectors were not asked to nominate the leading players in each section of the field -- forwards, defenders and midfielders / ruckmen - as per recent seasons, but simply to name the best players of the season. However, the final team of 22 is selected to best fit team balance as if to play a match.

The All Australian selection panel is: Andrew Demetriou (chairman), Adrian Anderson, Kevin Bartlett, Gerard Healy, James Hird, Glen Jakovich, Mark Ricciuto and Robert Walls.
