Adelaide and Collingwood watched each other train in an unusual gathering at the Ghantoot Polo Club on Friday morning.

The Crows were slightly late to have first use of the ground - the desert oasis venue for Saturday's NAB Cup match - but Collingwood politely waited and then started their warm-up on an adjacent patch of turf before taking their turn.

In the three weeks since the decision was made to change venues, an impressive football oval has been created with temporary stands on the outer side to cater for an expected crowd of 6000.

Coach Neil Craig was pleased with the facilities at the polo club.

"They've obviously worked very hard to get this up to scratch," he said after training. "The playing surface is better than you would see at most grounds back in Australia at this time of the year and with a crowd in here there should be a really good atmosphere."

Adelaide will finalise its 26-man line-up just before the start of the game on Saturday afternoon.
