MATTHEW Lloyd and Adam McPhee have been nominated for the Toyota AFL Mark and Goal of the Year respectively.

Lloyd was back to his best on the weekend kicking eight goals and earning a nomination for the Toyota AFL Mark of the Year in what many are calling the hot favourite. Lloyd was spectacular coming across a pack of players to take a sensational grab.

McPhee is this week in the running for the Toyota AFL Goal of the Year for his sensational goal against Melbourne in the final term. After collecting the ball McPhee broke free from a pack of players to snap a great left-footed goal on the run.

Bomber fans can view and vote for Lloyd’s mark and McPhee’s goal at www.afl.com.au/markgoal. Voting is open from the Monday after each round through to the following Sunday night.

In 2008, the winners of the Toyota AFL Mark and Goal of the Year awards will each receive;

  • The use of a TRD Aurion for 12 months, presented by Toyota   
  • $5000 for their grassroots club, presented by Toyota
  • A crystal replica of the official perpetual Toyota AFL Mark and Goal of the Year trophies
  • The Alex Jesaulenko Medal (mark) and Phil Manassa Medal (goal)

At the end of the 22 round Toyota AFL Premiership season, the AFL All-Australian Selection Committee will decide the overall winner from the 22 weekly winners.

The awards will be the presented during 2008 Toyota AFL Grand Final week.
