YOUNG Adelaide players Brodie Martin, Jared Petrenko and Rory Sloane will take over the jumpers made famous by retired champions Simon Goodwin, Andrew McLeod and Tyson Edwards next season.

Martin, 22, has only played four games for the Crows, having missed most of last season recuperating from a knee reconstruction.

The former rookie starred in Adelaide's win against St Kilda at AAMI Stadium in round 22 and has been earmarked for a role across half-back in 2011.

Martin will take over Goodwin's No.36 and said he was honoured to be moving into the locker belonging to the former skipper and two-time premiership player.

"Goody approached me at the end of the season and asked if I wanted to take on his number," Martin told afc.com.au.

"I went away and thought about it and I'm so honoured to be given his number, especially from such a great leader and past club champion."

Dashing small forward/defender Jared Petrenko has been given McLeod's famous No.23 guernsey and Sloane will wear Edwards' No.9 jumper.

New recruit Sam Jacobs has been assigned guernsey No.24 previously worn by high-flying forward Brett Burton, while former Richmond midfielder Richard Tambling will be hoping to bring some sustained success to the No.1 jumper.

Upgraded rookies Matthew Jaensch and Luke Thompson have also switched lockers, with Matthew Jaensch moving into No.10 and Thompson taking over No.28.

Lively forward Jack Gunston will take over Fremantle-bound ruckman Jon Griffin's No.6 guernsey, which was famously worn by star forward Tony Modra.
