This Friday night sees Hawthorn take on St Kilda as part of the annual Blue Ribbon Cup in a blockbuster clash at Etihad Stadium.

The Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation perpetuates the memory of police officers killed while serving the community.

The Hawks proudly take part in the Blue Ribbon Cup, played in memory of two Victoria Police officers Sergeant Gary Silk, (a passionate Hawthorn member) and Senior Constable Rodney Miller, who were killed in the line of duty at Moorabbin in August 1998.

The Saints are the current Cup holders after defeating the Hawks in Round 19, 2009.

The Blue Ribbon Cup and best-on-ground medals will be presented by 12-year-old James Miller, the son of Senior Constable Rodney Miller, and members of the Silk family.

Victoria Police Chief Commissioner and Hawks member Simon Overland will present players with the commemorative medals.

As a mark of respect for the 150 Victoria Police officers who have been killed in the line of duty, Hawks players and on-field officials will wear reflective blue and white checkered arm bands.
