Richmond midfielder Daniel Jackson is free to play against Fremantle this weekend after a successful case before the AFL tribunal on Tuesday night.
Jackson was risking a one-week suspension by contesting his charge for striking Melbourne captain James McDonald, which had been assessed by the match review panel as reckless conduct, low impact and high contact.
He could have accepted a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record with an early plea, but will instead carry 80 points.
Jackson, who finished runner-up in the Tigers' best and fairest count in 2009, argued that his contact with McDonald in Sunday's match was accident and incidental, but not reckless.
The 24-year-old has played 73 games for Richmond since his 2004 debut.
