Speaking to SEN Radio before the Eagles match against St Kilda at Subiaco on Saturday, Micale said it was "unlikely" he would remain as an assistant to John Worsfold beyond the current season.
Speculation regarding the Eagles' coaching staff has surrounded the club since ex-Brisbane Lion premiership captain Michael Voss was signed to a two-year deal as an assistant.
Voss will begin his tenure in 2009.
