COLLINGWOOD'S outstanding form has seen a flood of money not only for the Pies to break a 19-year September drought, but also for a couple of their stars to grab football's highest individual honour.

Dane Swan and Alan Didak have been sensationally backed to win the Brownlow Medal in recent weeks, with bookmakers now rating both players among the top half-dozen chances to win football's top award.

TAB Sportsbet's Gary Davies said while Geelong's Gary Ablett remained outright favourite at $3, the weight of support for the Collingwood pair meant the star Cat's price had eased.

Carlton champ Chris Judd is second pick at $3.50 and his price remained steady after a solid performance against Richmond at the weekend.

However it is the move of the Collingwood pair that has been a big talking point. Both have firmed after a string of high-possession matches which have catapulted the Magpies to fourth on the ladder.

Swan has been heavily backed this week, coming in further from $4.50 on Monday into $4 by Tuesday.

"He's the one that's been a dramatic shortener over the last three or four weeks," Davies told afl.com.au.

"Even before last week's game he was a $7 chance, so he's $7 into $4 after the weekend.

"And obviously the fact that Ablett's missed another game … we did have him at $2.75 on Monday morning, but it's pretty obvious that the money for Swan is causing that bit of a reshuffle at the top there."

Didak, now a $10 chance despite missing five games, has been in commanding form during Collingwood's recent form surge.

"He's the interesting one; about six weeks ago he was 500-1 but he's had a blinding past month, hasn't he?" Davies said.

The market is dominated by players whose teams are inside the top four, as well as former winners. Adam Goodes ($9) and Simon Black ($13) are both considered good chances, with bookmakers rubbing their hands together at the prospect of a tight market and a number of chances come Brownlow night.

Meanwhile, in the premiership race, the Magpies are into $7.

"They're the third pick now ahead of the Bulldogs and that's weight of money," Davies said.

"No-one has really launched into the Doggies but as per usual there's a heap of money for Collingwood. On Monday when we re-did the betting it was $7.50 for both of them, but with the weight of money we've just had to give them [Collingwood] a little turn in."
