The Power threw its support behind TeamVodafone at the Clipsal 500, and the team duly delivered on Sunday, with Jamie Whincup streaking the field to win his second Clipsal 500 in three years.

It would be far too ambitious of the club to claim it had anything to do with the sensational win but drivers Craig Lowndes and Whincup did have a lot to do with the Power during the week.

Both teams share a major partner in Vodafone, who are great supporters of sport in Australia and the drivers joined the Power players in a go-kart challenge on Tuesday and attended the Vodafone Power Business Series Event on Wednesday.

Joining stars Lowndes and Whincup on Tuesday were Warren Tredrea, Dom Cassisi, Daniel Motlop and self-confessed ‘rev head’ Michael Pettigrew. The boys in a field of 11 including other TeamVodafone fans and Adelaide Confidential’s Amy Noonan had a fierce 12-lap go-kart race.

Much to the joy of Petters he finished just ahead of Lowndsey, although his Power teammates did note fare so well. Dom finished 6th, Tredders was near the back, and Daniel Motlop was absolute last in race not surprisingly won by Jamie Whincup.

Pettigrew and Tredrea were both in awe of the talent of TeamVodafone drivers.

“Their skill is amazing,” said Pettigrew. “I may have beaten Lowndesy, but it’s fair to say I think he may have gone a little easy on me.”

“I don’t think they (TeamVodafone drivers) used their brakes once,” Tredrea said. “We’re concentrating that hard and they’re turning around laughing looking like they’re just having a relaxing Sunday drive. It was awesome to watch”

Lowndes and Whincup continued to entertain on Wednesday at the first of four Vodafone Power Business Series Events at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. The duo had the 250 guests in silence – Tredders, Petters, Steven Salopek and Adam Cockshell included – as they listened to life as a racing driver and their thoughts ahead of the Clipsal 500.

To round out the working week, a few of the Power players found themselves in the pits on Friday thanks to Vodafone, this time truly watching Lowndes and Whincup do their thing. You guessed it – Michael Pettigrew was one of them!

Congratulations to Jamie Whincup and all at TeamVodafone, from everyone at the Power.
