The 25 year-old, who has played just four matches this season due to an achilles injury, is the only forced omission at this stage for the Cats.
Coming into the side to replace King is former Hawthorn ruckman David Loats, who will make his debut for Geelong, after he missed the opening five matches of the season due to a knee injury. He has since spent the past six weeks in the VFL.
The Cats have also included Andrew Mackie, Corey Enright and David Spriggs, with the trio all named on the extended bench.
Kangaroos' dual premiership player Glenn Archer has been rushed back into the side, after missing last week's 74-point victory over Richmond with an arm infection.
Archer spent a few days in hospital and was treated with intravenous antibiotics for the infection.
The Roos have also named defender Callum Urch for potentially his first AFL game against the Cats. The 19 year-old has been on the verge of selection for the past few weeks, having been named as an emergency in round 10.
Urch, along with Jess Sinclair and Corey Jones have been named on the provisional interchange, while youngster Ash Watson has been omitted.
