The trial is aimed at ensuring more supporters are able to gain access to Skilled Stadium by offering for re-sale the reserved seats of season-holders who are unable to attend the games.
Geelong Football Club Chief Operating Officer Stuart Fox said the trial was aimed at maximising attendances at Skilled Stadium and ensuring as many Cats’ supporters as possible were in the stands.
“We know there are times when our reserved seat holders are unable to make it to our games, whether it’s a family commitment or another engagement. This program offers them an alternative to lending out seats to family and friends or leaving their seat unoccupied on game day,” Fox said.
“This is a first for Victoria – and the Geelong FC are delighted to lead the way in trialling this initiatives which has the potential of being a great benefit for our Members.”
With limited reserved seating available at Skilled Stadium, offering seats for re-sale will give other members and supporters the opportunity to experience seating in some of the prime areas of the ground.
How the program works
All Reserved seat holder Members have been sent a letter outlining the seat release process. Members can release their seats in either of two ways; Either visiting gfc.com.au and click the ‘Cats’ Seat Re-sale’ icon on the home page. Alternatively, Members can phone 1300 364 779 and simply follow the prompts.
When can seats be released?
Match Release your seat from Up until
Geelong v Sydney Monday, August 14, 9am Wednesday, August 16, noon
Geelong v Melbourne Monday, August 21, 9am Wednesday, August 23, noon
Once a seat has been released for a specific match, the Member will not be able to use their membership (entry and seat entitlement) for that designated game.
Who can buy the released seats?
Seats will be offered to Geelong members on the Thursday prior to the match and if not sold, it will be released to the general public on Friday.

As an incentive for Members to participate in the Cats’ Seat Re-sale Program, they will receive a credit voucher towards your 2007 membership if the seat is re-sold.
