Our team celebrated more than just a victory over Brisbane during the split round, with players attending the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation’s ‘Christmas in July’ last week.

Led by new Club President, Jim Stynes, players were special guests at the lunch where they distributed gifts to over 1,500 guests – many of whom are homeless or disadvantaged.

Taking place at the Royal Exhibition Building, ‘Christmas in July’ was the biggest community lunch held in Melbourne in decades, with people from over 100 charities in attendance.

Like MELBOURNEfc, the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation is celebrating a milestone year in 2008, having spent 85 years providing funding to over 400 Melbourne charities.
