Sydney full-back Leo Barry believes the grand final loss to West Coast will ensure the Swans start next season differently from their 2006 campaign. In the past four seasons the Swans have started slowly before hitting their straps, but Barry feels the way they ended 2006 will give them added bite in 2007."We will have a different approach going into next season having come off a loss," Barry told Sportal."We celebrated long and hard after last year's premiership win, but when we turn up for round one in 2007 there will be a few different guys in the team and hopefully that, along with the extra hunger from other players on the list, will give us extra desire to have another crack at it."It was such a big year for us. It is very hard to go back-to-back with everyone gunning for you but the way we handled ourselves all year was a credit to our organisation and I am sure we will be a better team for it next year and we will be up there again."Reflecting on the heartbreak of the one point grand final loss, the 2005 premiership hero said the damage was done early in the match."We were under the pump early and they controlled the ball. They had a lot of use of it and a lot of uncontested use of it, the way they were able to move the ball into the forward line made it really difficult," the two-time All-Australian said."To the guys' credit they really dominated the second half and we had our opportunities to score but ended up short."I was finding it tough too as I did my hamstring in the third quarter, I was still able to play but I was really limited."I couldn't run off at all. I just tried to stay in front of my opponent so he wouldn't get on the lead as it was difficult to keep up with guys on the lead."Despite the loss Barry feels there were still plenty of positives to take out of the contest."Teddy Richards played really well and was one of our best players in the last two months of the season. He has turned into a really important player for our team," he said."To his credit, half way through the year we were not sure where Teddy was at in his role in the team but he is certainly one guy who you have no worries lining up with week-in week-out."The way he does his job down back and the way he puts his body on the line is a credit to him and he will become and integral part of our defence and forward line."He is often given the role of stopping a dangerous player during the game and he comes up on top too. He has really improved his game and taken it to another level."Barry also had words of encouragement for Lewis Roberts-Thomson.In the grand final 'LRT' struggled in defence before moving to the forward line where he managed to boot an important goal."Lewie was under an injury cloud for a while before as he had a really bad foot and it certainly affected the way he was able to run, but to his credit he went up forward and took a couple of catches and kicked a goal, though I was pretty nervous as he was running in, to be honest."
