I am listening to the radio and getting more and more concerned about the new coaching position.Dean Laidley is being touted as the next big thing to hit St Kilda, as the Kangaroos seem to be doubtful about him. Well that must mean that we really need him then hey? What has he done at North Melbourne? Nothing.Every game he loses he has a major dummy spit. We watched him have a couple at our hands. He seems very petulant and I don't think he has the right personality to get the best out of our good young players. They need guidance, not shouting and ranting.Like him or not, Grant Thomas was great with the boys and certainly got out of them what he could. Injury played a big part in our problems and preparation for finals. The Saints have made some disastrous decisions as far as coaches are concerned in the past 10 years, and I hope they don't do it again. As far as the Captain is concerned, I think Lenny Hayes should be appointed and show the leadership he has on and off field. Leave the younger players to concentrate on their football and have experience in the leadership role.Even when the others were in the position, Lenny often showed the leadership qualities which make for a good Captain. Getting stuck in to Chris Connolly in Tassie after Sirengate and Connolly went onto the ground, speaking to umpires re decisions etc. Lenny for Captain.
