THERE is excitement in the air as the first day of the season is here. For AFL Fantasy coaches, that excitement is mixed with nervousness as we lock in our squads of 30 for the season.
Carlton has announced that Paddy Dow (MID, $266,000) will make his debut in the season opener. More than 20 per cent of coaches have the No.3 draft pick on board as a cash cow.

Clubs have been good to us this week, revealing which new players will suit up for their teams in round one.
Fremantle were first to announce good news with Andrew Brayshaw (MID, $268,000) and Bailey Banfield (MID, $170,000) named to play their first game and become locks in thousands of Fantasy teams.
Collingwood’s Sam Murray (DEF, $170,000) and Adelaide’s Tom Doedee (DEF, $170,000) have both been given the nod and as a result are the fourth and fifth most selected players in Fantasy Classic.
Make sure your squad is set before the Richmond v Carlton game.
Once the ball is bounced at 7:25pm AEDT, Tigers and Blues will be locked but you will be able to tweak the rest of your side right up until Friday’s full lockout at 7:50pm AEDT. Once the Bombers v Crows game begins, Fantasy coaches can put their feet up and relax, watching their scores tick over.
