COLLINGWOOD defender Tom Langdon suffered concussion after the Magpies' final pre-season game but has declared he will be fit to take on Geelong in round one.

Langdon copped a knock during the Magpies' JLT Community Series clash with Carlton on Monday and believed he had shaken it off until he suffered some concussion symptoms post-match.

With concussed players generally required to avoid contact work for the following week, Langdon is confident the 11-day break between the pre-season hitout with the Blues and the season-opener against the Cats will provide him with ample time to make a full recovery.

The 24-year-old, who still played 80 per cent game time against Carlton and was a strong performer, has been on restricted duties and was slated to do only straight-line training on Friday morning.

However, Langdon, who starred as an undersized key defender in last year's finals series, expects to step up his training on Monday, ahead of the clash with Geelong at the MCG four days later.

"I had a bit of delayed concussion," Langdon told AFL.com.au.

"It was nothing major but a couple of hours later I had a bad headache and felt a bit average.

"There aren't any concerns, though. I'm feeling a lot better and I should be all good by Monday.

"At least I got it at a time when we've got a week off, so I'll be fine for round one."

The Magpies also expect exciting forwards Jordan De Goey (foot) and Jaidyn Stephenson (groin) to be passed fit for round one.
