ADELAIDE is keeping its fingers crossed captain Taylor Walker and vice-captain Rory Sloane will be fit to face premiership favourites Greater Western Sydney at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.
Walker is in doubt with a hamstring injury, while Sloane is working his way back from a fractured eye socket.
"We're extremely hopeful at the moment they will both be right," Crows ruckman Sam Jacobs told reporters on Monday.
"Sloaney has really started to step up his training the last couple of weeks.
"We're pretty confident he will be able to get up, and Tex, we'll wait and see.
"I'm not sure of the full extent of the injury.
"He's doing everything right. He's been out on the track and making sure he's looking after it properly.
"We're pretty hopeful for both of them."
The Crows will make a final decision on Walker and Sloane after their main training session on Thursday.
Walker had a tight hamstring in the team's final game of the JLT Community Series, while Sloane collided with teammate Josh Jenkins during an intra-club game.
Jacobs will play his 150th game and said the Crows were wary of a Giants side that was one game shy of reaching the grand final last year.
"They're obviously a really well balanced team," Jacobs said.
"They've got real depth in all their lines and it's going to be a great challenge for us and one we look forward to this week.
"I think we've made some really big gains in our midfield with the stuff we've been working on in the pre-season."
