GOLD Coast rookie Ryan Davis will play his first AFL game in over six years when he lines up for the Suns against Essendon on Saturday.
The 26-year-old's last appearance came for West Coast in round 21, 2009 before he was delisted at the end of that season.
He was thrown a lifeline by the Suns in the rookie draft and earned promotion to the senior list after a strong NAB Challenge.
"I'm over the moon. Finally get a second chance, it's been a long six years so looking forward to getting another crack at it," Davis told the club's website.
After kicking four goals in his three NAB Challenge games, Davis is hoping to kick another couple on the weekend.
"Just the intensity, tackle pressure and hopefully get a couple of snaggers for the boys as well," he said.
David Swallow has been placed on the long-term injury list after undergoing arthroscopic surgery in late February on his left knee.
