GEELONG superstar Patrick Dangerfield faces a nervous wait from the Match Review after a heavy bump on Crow Jake Kelly.

Dangerfield elected to bump Kelly, but the pair also clashed heads with the Crow coming off second best.

The Adelaide defender lay motionless on the ground before he was stretchered off the field with a bloodied face.

"Sometimes players run into each other and there's a head clash," Cats coach Chris Scott said after the match.

"To my eye, it looked like he (Dangerfield) was doing everything he could to protect himself and the other player."

The Match Review will deliver its findings on the incident on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Scott says no-one knows when his prized recruit Jeremy Cameron will make his debut for the club.

Cameron missed the Cats' 12-point away loss to Adelaide on Saturday after re-injuring a hamstring.

ALL THE HIGHLIGHTS

While Scott believes the injury is relatively minor, the former GWS star is an unlikely starter when the Cats host Brisbane next Saturday night.

"He had a little bit of an issue (with the same hamstring) six weeks ago and came back without any problems at all," Scott said.

"He was through 99 per cent of our preparation when he was tackling a player at training (on Wednesday) and just felt something.

"So nothing severe by any stretch.

"We were still thinking the next day that he was 50-50 to play but the scan came back showing something around the site of the previous injury."

Scott has been told by club medicos that the 2019 Coleman medallist "clinically ... looks pretty good".

But he conceded a return date was unknown.

"Everyone, including the people who have got their hands on him, we are only really guessing at this stage," he said.

"It depends how he progresses over the next week or so before we can give an accurate prognosis.

"I think the call so far is that six days (until the next game) will be a little bit of a stretch to come up.

"Being cautious is the obvious path to take.

"I suspect it's going to be a long and arduous season so to make it harder by taking risks with key players early on seems to me to be a mistake."
