Podsiadly will debut some 10 years after first being on Essendon’s list, while Gamble earns a recall in place of the suspended Cameron Mooney.
The Cats have named seven on the bench, including Ryan Gamble and Max Rooke, and must trim that to four on Friday night.
Taylor Hunt is among the options, and if he gets the call will be the fourth Cats debutante of the season, following on from Mitch Duncan, Steve Motlop and Podsiadly.
