PORT Adelaide vice-captain Ollie Wines says he's still at least a couple of weeks away from deciding whether he will re-sign with the Power.
The 23-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, having played 117 games with the Power since he was the seventh overall pick in the 2012 NAB AFL Draft.
If Wines signs a two-year extension he will then become a free agent, having been with the club for eight seasons when he comes out of contract in 2020.
"I'd love to get it done in the next couple of weeks, but it depends on how I'm feeling and how everything else comes to play, but probably within the next two to three weeks," Wines told Melbourne radio station SEN on Tuesday morning.
"I'm still weighing it up at this stage.
"This is my sixth year in the system and whatever length I sign, it probably sees me for another two or three years, so after that time, I think you're fairly settled.
"I'm not to that stage yet, but I see myself as fairly settled and there's no point uprooting myself to move interstate again to go play at another club.
"That adds a little bit more to the decision I need to make, because this may be the last time I look at going anywhere."
The hard-working inside midfielder is having another solid season for the Power, averaging 26 disposals and 6.7 clearances per game.
"I've been able to talk to my family a lot, my management and we're working through the decision," he said.
"An AFL career's pretty short these days and whenever you sign a contract, you've got to make sure you're in it 100 per cent.
"It will happen soon."
