CAMPBELL Brown's rejuvenation could result in the Gold Coast veteran playing on in 2014.

But following a six-week suspension to start the season, Brown was thrust straight back into the starting 18 and has played like a rookie again.

He told AFL.com.au in May he was playing with a chip on his shoulder after coach Guy McKenna did not guarantee his position on return from suspension.

In seven matches he has kicked 14 goals and applied relentless pressure in the forward 50m.

He plays his 200th career game against the Brisbane Lions in Saturday's QClash at the Gabba, and said there might be a few more to come.

"The way I'm feeling at the moment, I'm feeling fantastic. If I can finish the year off really strongly the way I've been playing, I'll certainly look to play on next year," Brown said.

"It's a pretty big nine weeks for the footy club and myself and there's a few other guys in the same boat. 

"I'm not going to rush the decision and just keep plugging along the way we're going because I think it's working."

Along with Brown, other uncontracted signings Nathan Bock and Michael Rischitelli are also out of contract at the end of the year, leaving the Suns with some decisions to make.

Brown said he was enjoying his football more than ever, particularly with the young Suns' rate of improvement.

"Bluey (McKenna) says a famous quote all the time, "don’t count your games, make your games count".

"I did a power of work over the six-week break (suspension) and I knew my body was physically capable of playing good footy this year and mentally I certainly haven't lost any of that drive and hunger to be out there in the contest. 

"It's been really good since I've come back and the side's playing well."

But Brown has warned his Suns teammates to not get too comfortable with themselves ahead of Saturday's clash against their nearest rivals.

He said while they had made big strides inn 2013, the Suns had won just once in their past five matches and needed to get back in the winner's circle.

They have also lost four straight QClashes to the Lions.

"We understand that Brisbane have got the wood over us," he said.

"We've got the one win, the first ever, but after that it's been all Brisbane. We need to start evening up that ledger a bit.

"We need a win. While everyone has been giving us a pat on the back because we've been pretty competitive against some good sides, the facts of the matter are we haven't got the four points on many occasions.

"This is a huge game for the club if we want to continue to playing later in the year, and finals in September.

"We need to start winning games and we need to start winning this week."
