ESSENDON'S Ben Howlett missed out on winning the Yiooken Award on Saturday night but according to the Official AFL Player Ratings, brought to you by Gatorade, he was the best performer in that game and in the whole of round 11.

Howlett kicked five goals straight, had 25 touches and was the leading pressure player in the Bombers' 50-point win over Richmond.

While Brendon Goddard was awarded the Yiooken Award for best on ground against the Tigers, Howlett's effort earned him a player ratings score of 30.2 points, which was nearly 12 points higher than that recorded by the second-best player on the field.

It was also the highest score of Howlett's 84-game career.

The second-best player ratings score in round 11 was recorded by Adelaide forward Taylor Walker.

In his third game back from a serious knee injury, Walker kicked five goals, assisted two scores and was involved in a further eight of the Crows' scores, which added up to 26.3 points.

The other top scores in round 11 were recorded by Collingwood's Travis Cloke (26.2), North Melbourne veteran Brent Harvey (25.9), Gold Coast skipper Gary Ablett (25.7), Greater Western Sydney midfielder Devon Smith (25.4) and Adelaide dasher Rory Sloane (25.1).

Walker's effort saw him leap 26 places, from 350 to 324, on the player ratings table.

Hawthorn's Isaac Smith and Gold Coast's Jaeger O'Meara have both cracked the top 100.

Smith has been the Hawks' third-highest point-scorer this season, behind Luke Breust and Shaun Burgoyne.

O’Meara ranks 27th in the competition for total points this year. He is the fourth-youngest player to have made the top 100. Harley Bennell, Chad Wingard and Steele Sidebottom were all younger when they cracked the ton.

Ablett remains the No.1 player in the competition. He is also the leading point-scorer this season.

Ablett has scored 235.5 points in 2014. He leads Collingwood's Scott Pendlebury (213.2), Essendon's Jobe Watson (181) and Geelong's Joel Selwood (179.8).

Magpies defender Tom Langdon is the leading first-year player.

He has tallied 111.5 points, with Brisbane Lions midfielder James Aish (93.4) and St Kilda's Luke Dunstan (93.1) also racking up impressive numbers.
