PORT Adelaide forward Chad Wingard has been given the green light for Saturday's clash with the Brisbane Lions at Adelaide Oval.

Wingard was in doubt with hamstring tightness, and although he only did the warm-up and walked laps at Friday morning's light session, he did enough on Thursday at the club's main training session to take his place in the side.

"He's fine, he'll play," Power coach Ken Hinkley told reporters on Friday morning.

"If he was to be sore tomorrow or if he doesn't quite get through the warm-up, that would be the only reason he won't play … he'll be playing.

"It's more of an awareness.

"We wouldn't take a risk, that'd be foolish.

"He's comfortable. He ran at high speeds yesterday, so there's no problems."

Winger Jared Polec and forward Todd Marshall also only walked laps at Friday morning's light session at Adelaide Oval, but Hinkley said both would play.

After booting six goals in the SANFL last weekend, former North Melbourne forward Lindsay Thomas trained with the team on Friday morning as the stand-by emergency.

"Lindsay is doing what he should be doing at the level and giving himself every opportunity, but like a few boys, he is waiting for an opportunity," Hinkley said.

It will be the first time Power recruit Tom Rockliff faces his former side since leaving the club at the end of last season.

The 28-year-old played 154 games for the Lions, captained the club for two seasons and won their best and fairest in 2011 and 2014.

But he's had a slow start at the Power, averaging 10.5 possessions in their two wins, after having an interrupted pre-season with a shoulder injury.

"Rock will be keen to do well, as will Brisbane to make sure he doesn't do well," Hinkley said.

"I would imagine Tommy would be a little bit anxious about tomorrow and how he wants to about things, but importantly for him, he just has to come and play his role.

"Tom's playing a role we're really comfortable with and we know there's an enormous amount of growth still to come."

The Power have a six-day turnaround after their gutsy win over Sydney at the SCG last Sunday, and will be playing in hot conditions for the third straight week.

But Hinkley wasn't using that as an excuse and said his side couldn't afford to think they could simply walk over the Lions.

"It'd be poor by us if that in any way comes out," Hinkley said.

"The important part for us as a team is that we're still trying to build our game and our opportunity in a competition that is so tight.

"This is a great opportunity for us tomorrow to perform at our best."
