SERIAL sledger Will Minson says he won’t verbally target Essendon players over the supplement scandal when the two clubs meet in their NAB Cup opener at Etihad Stadium on Friday night.
The Bulldogs ruckman indicated that he and his teammates would regard the Essendon doping scandal as off-limits.
"The AFL's pretty clear on their views on sledging – I learnt a while ago that if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all. I think that's the best advice," he told a press conference on Wednesday.
"We're out there to play games of football, and attack the ball and kick goals. That's what (the fans) want to see, so there's really no need for much else."
Minson has twice come under fire for delivering controversial onfield sledges, both against Port Adelaide players.
After the Bulldogs took on the Power in Darwin in 2008, Minson publicly apologised to Kane Cornes after making a remark about his sick son.
Last year Minson received a club-imposed one-match suspension using obscene language towards then Port player Danyle Pearce.
