FREMANTLE has lost Griffin Logue to a hamstring injury, placing him in doubt for the season-opener against North Melbourne.
Logue came off late against Collingwood at Joondalup on Monday and the Dockers originally believed the injury was cramp.
But the third-year defender – whose 2018 was wiped out by a foot issue – has joined small forward Sam Switkowski by sustaining a minor hamstring strain from the Collingwood clash.
"Both Sam and Griffin have minor level injuries," high performance manager Jason Weber said.
"At this stage, they’re both progressing through their individual KPIs with regard to their returns but we’re confident they’ll move along quite quickly."
Logue's injury could see Brennan Cox, who booted three goals against Collingwood, swing back to defence.
The Dockers are weighing up their best fit with their talls at both ends and in the ruck, and hope youngster Sean Darcy (hamstring/back) will be fit to face West Coast this Sunday.
Superstar skipper Nat Fyfe is also being monitored after elbow surgery following AFLX, while ex-Richmond recruit Reece Conca (knee) could make his club debut.
"Nat’s progressing really well, obviously it was a minor surgery on his elbow," Weber said.
"We’re in post-operative management mode at the moment. He’ll progress into training and we’ll see how he goes from there.
"Sean’s been training really strongly. We expect he’ll train fully on Friday to see if he’ll be available for selection.
"Reece had a little bit of complexity with a knee infection that he had.
"He’s been training well over the past fortnight and again, we’ll see him into training on Friday and we look forward to him being available for selection."
Weber declared Connor Blakely was on track to return in the "early rounds" after suffering a serious hamstring injury, while Stephen Hill is back running after another slight quad setback.
Draftee Luke Valente is three weeks away from playing after arriving at the club with a groin problem, while young tall Hugh Dixon will miss three weeks with a hip problem suffered at training.
Veteran ruckman Aaron Sandilands, injury-plagued Harley Bennell (calf) and Shane Kersten (foot) are among seven players currently without official return dates.
