The only way to describe Scott Pendlebury’s 2010 season is phenomenal. Along with Dane Swan, the vice-captain formed one of the most lethal one-two midfield combinations in the AFL. He played every game, was the Norm Smith Medallist in the grand final replay as well as the ANZAC Medallist, averaged career highs for kicks, handballs and tackles, and won his first All Australian guernsey. Will go down as a Magpie great, and he’s still only 22! Has twice finished in the top-three in the Copeland Trophy - could this be the year he wins it for the first time?
Highlights
Grand Final Replay v St Kilda: After battling illness and having a quiet game in the first grand final, he rebounded superbly to win BOG honours with 29 classy touches and a career-high 11 tackles.
Preliminary Final v Geelong: His first half was simply sublime and was a big reason why the Pies built a stunning 81-point lead by midway through the third term.
Round 5 v Essendon (ANZAC Day): After a relatively subdued first month of the season, he really turned it on to win the ANZAC Medal and set himself up for a big year.
