ADELAIDE'S Brent Reilly has been moved out of intensive care and into a private ward at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

Reilly had been in the hospital's intensive care unit since Monday when he sustained a fractured skull at training.

He was rushed to hospital in an ambulance after the incident and underwent surgery on Monday afternoon to insert a metal plate into the left side of his skull to stabilise the several breaks.

The 31-year-old's family and Crows doctors have been pleased with his progress since the operation although they say it is too early to know whether he'll play football in 2015.

Reilly, who is out of contract at the end of the year, has played 203 games across 13 seasons with the Crows.
