Cameron booted four goals in Sunday's 113-point loss to Fremantle to take his season tally to 58, just two behind Coleman medal leader Josh Kennedy.
Sheedy believes Cameron could have reached the 100-goal mark this year had he been playing in a far more experienced side.
The 20-year-old played through an ankle injury in the loss to Fremantle, but it's an overall soreness that could keep him out of Saturday night's clash with the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba.
In an ideal world, Sheedy would like to rest Cameron this week.
But he conceded he may struggle to follow through on his plan if he felt it would cost the 196cm spearhead an All Australian berth.
"If I thought he could be (a guaranteed) All-Australian, I would give him a rest, but I just don't know the selectors well enough," Sheedy said.
"I might have to roll him out there, get 65-70 goals and put pressure on the selectors.
"Everyone know this kid is going to be a freakish sort of player.
"At the moment he's going to kick between 60 and 70 goals in probably the most inexperienced and youngest team ever in the history of the AFL.
"He'll be an absolute superstar in footy, I am pretty sure of that.
"He's got a very fierce determination.
"You haven't seen the killer instinct in him yet. There's plenty of it. He just needs a bit more people around to help."
GWS has only won one game for the year, but Sheedy said his young group had learned plenty of lessons from their 24.13 (157) to 6.8 (44) loss to the ultra-disciplined Dockers.
