FORWARD Taylor Walker has rubbished claims he wants out of Adelaide, saying he plans to re-sign with the club at the end of the season.

When rumblings a Crows player was about to announce he'd agreed to join Greater Western Sydney started earlier in the week, many fingered Walker as the defector.

Speculation the 21-year-old was poised to sign or had already signed with GWS had been rife since last year, and his decision to postpone contract talks until the end of the season had only fuelled the debate over his future.

As it turned out, Walker had been an unwitting - and successful - foil for teammate Phil Davis, who was only revealed as a target of the newcomers by Collingwood president Eddie McGuire two weeks prior to quitting the Crows to take up a lucrative offer with GWS.

Some industry insiders, who had the skilful goalkicker signed, sealed and delivered to the Giants next season, now have him linked to the Sydney Swans.

Walker and his management haven't waivered from their pre-season plans to wait until the end of the season to negotiate a new deal, but the forward said he expected to remain at West Lakes.

"I've had no contact at all [with GWS]," Walker told afl.com.au.

"You've just got to laugh at it [the speculation]. Otherwise, you can get frustrated.

"My manager and I will sit down with the club and work something out at the end of the year.

"I plan to be at this club …  I've got no intentions [of leaving]."

Despite the pair sharing the same manager, Walker said he had "no idea" Davis had even been approached by GWS, initially believing the defender was addressing the players for a different reason on Tuesday.

"A few of the boys actually thought Phil was going to retire because he was a bit emotional when he came in to talk to the group," he said.

"We thought his shoulder must be no good … but then we clicked on.

"I respect Phil's decision even though it's not the best thing for us as a club.

"He would've been a handy player for us going forward, but I wish him well.

"Hopefully, now it takes a bit of the media hype off me, which would be nice."
