Incoming chief executive Mark Haysman said the football department had commissioned the analysis in pursuit of the best possible environment to prepare it for the 2009 season.
The analysis will be conducted by a six-member panel:
-- Mark Haysman, Chief Executive
-- Peter Rohde, General Manager – Football Operations
-- Mark Williams, Senior Coach
-- Darryl Wakelin, PAFC Director
-- Brian Cunningham, SANFL Commissioner, former Port Adelaide CEO and Chief Executive of the Department of Trade and Economic Development
-- David Pittman, AFL premiership ruckman, former Port Adelaide assistant coach and an adviser at Adelaide share broking and investment advisory firm Taylor Collison
The analysis will build on the 2008 mid-season review when former Australian cricket coach John Buchanan and Kangaroos premiership coach Denis Pagan helped to assess and develop the club’s learning environment.
“This analysis is all about continuous improvement and the best possible management of football operations in what we do every day of the week,” said Haysman.
“Ultimately, everything comes down to performance on the field. We want to ensure that our system does everything it can to support and prepare our players for continuous high performance in 2009.
“It will involve everything from training regimes, match-day processes, pre-match planning, game-style, mental preparation and mentoring to post-match recovery, diet and fitness.
“Our supporters can be assured that through this process we will provide our players with the best possible environment to prepare for next season.”
