LUCKLESS Melbourne midfielder Angus Brayshaw has suffered yet another head knock in the opening minutes of Casey's VFL clash with the Northern Blues on Sunday.

The 21-year-old, who missed the past fortnight to recover from his third concussion in 12 months, lasted just three minutes in the opening quarter after colliding into Blue Jed Lamb following a stoppage at half-back.

The 187cm onballer was slow to get to his feet and appeared groggy as he left the ground.

Play continued as he walked off slowly with two trainers nearby, before going straight to the rooms and taking no further part in the match.

Casey coach Justin Plapp painted a bleak picture of Brayshaw's latest setback.

"It looked quite ordinary," Plapp told News Corp on Sunday.

"I know with concussions there are some pretty stringent protocols around it. By looking at him, he was done for the day.

"Fingers crossed we can find out pretty soon how bad it is. Off the top of my head, looking at it, I don't think it is going to be real great."

Brayshaw was last concussed on April 22 following a late hit against North Ballarat during the second quarter.

In May last year, he suffered two concussions at VFL level in the space of three weeks.

In the first instance, Brayshaw was concussed against Essendon when an errant kick from a teammate hit him in the head.

The Demon then received a heavy knock at a centre bounce against Sandringham a fortnight later, forcing him to miss the next month.

Brayshaw has played a total of 33 matches since being recruited with pick No.3 in the 2014 NAB AFL Draft.

He featured in the Demons' opening two games this season, before being omitted in round three.
