PORT Adelaide faces a selection squeeze for Saturday night's top-eight showdown with Richmond at Adelaide Oval, with winger Jared Polec and running defender Matthew Broadbent pushing to return.
Polec missed last weekend's win over Collingwood with a hamstring injury, while Broadbent was a late scratching when he rolled his ankle at training.
"Polly was running really well by the end of last week," Power assistant coach Brendon Lade told reporters on Monday.
"We'll see how (Broadbent) goes when he rolls out to training.
"If you roll your ankle the first time your ankle takes a little bit of time to recover.
"Second or third time it doesn't take too long, so hopefully he'll be right to go this week."
Lade said midfielder Karl Amon was progressing slower than expected in his return from a knee injury, and he was probably at least a couple of weeks away.
Lade has an intimate knowledge of the Tigers having spent the past seven seasons at Punt Road as an assistant coach.
"Hopefully we can use a lot of player (intelligence) to upset a few (of the players) and get a result we're after," Lade said.
"Last week was probably a good lead-in to Richmond because midfields are quite similar, Collingwood and Richmond, and their forward line, Collingwood's forward line wasn't a tall forward line.
"They had Darcy Moore and the rest were all six footers.
"Hopefully Broadbent's available and can play on one of those small guys."
The Power are aiming to win three straight games for the first time since round 20-23 in 2015.
They also must overturn a 0-4 record against top-eight opponents this year.
"We've had some good results against teams that are in the eight and haven't quite got over the line," Lade said.
"We know we can compete with those teams, the challenge for us is finishing those games off and getting the win."
