Former Adelaide midfielder Aidan Riley, who is sidelined with a leg injury, was the only recycled player to miss out on making his debut with the Demons this week.

St Kilda named prized draftee Jack Billings, who was recruited with pick No.3 in the 2013 NAB AFL Draft, as well as elevated rookie Eli Templeton and first-year midfielder Luke Dunstan.

Shane Savage, who joined the Saints from Hawthorn, and key defender Luke Delaney, who was traded from North Melbourne, are also set to make their debut for their second clubs.

On Friday night, North Melbourne will give a debut to father-son selection Luke McDonald against Essendon at Etihad Stadium as well as former St Kilda star Nick Dal Santo.

The Kangaroos have named former Richmond small forward Robin Nahas as an emergency.

The Bombers have named draftees Zach Merrett and Patrick Ambrose, who was upgraded from the rookie list on Thursday, while second-year midfielder Martin Gleeson is picked to make his debut after an impressive pre-season.

The Brisbane Lions have selected recent draftees James Aish and Lewis Taylor to debut, as well as former Geelong ruckman Trent West, who will offer support to Matthew Leuenberger.

Second-year forward Michael Close will also be unveiled when the Lions travel to Aurora Stadium.

Ahead of its clash against the Western Bulldogs on Sunday, West Coast has named ruckman Nic Naitanui on an extended interchange bench alongside rookie ruckman Callum Sinclair, who was elevated to the senior list on Thursday.

The Eagles have also named draftee Dom Sheed and former Brisbane Lion Elliot Yeo on an extended bench. After an impressive pre-season, former Hawk Xavier Ellis was named at half-back.
