MITCH Golby has come from nowhere to be considered one of this year’s must have AFL Fantasy players.

The young Brisbane Lions defender ranks fifth in the league in points-per-100 minutes after four games of the NAB Cup.

Priced at $379,700, Golby has tallied 177 points in 158 minutes of total game time, equivalent to 112 points per 100 minutes.

While Golby is averaging just under 11 possessions from his four games, he is proving extremely efficient at accumulating points while on the ground.

He's already shown solid Fantasy form averaged 74 points from 13 games in his second season in the League in 2012.

Golby could a an excellent selection for your AFL Fantasy Match Day team, launching this Friday night for the NAB Cup Grand Final.

Veteran Saint Leigh Montagna (MID, $498,100) heads the list of top pre-season performers, scoring 136 points per-100-minutes.

The midfielder is followed closely by Fantasy kings Tom Rockliff (FWD/MID, $481,700) and Brendon Goddard (DEF/MID, $501,300).

Rockliff has scored 125 points and Goddard 117 points in the same time frame.

Another Lion, Brent Moloney (MID, $309,800), has also justified his recruitment from the Demons and looms as a go-to fantasy option.

Moloney has averaged 115 points per 100 minutes and looks to be a blue-chip investment for Michael Voss and the NAB Cup Grand Finalists.

Collingwood's Steele Sidebottom (MID, $539,200) and Greater Western Sydney young gun Toby Greene (MID, $495,700) also feature prominently on the list.

Sidebottom has scored 112 points per-100-minutes, while Greene has clocked 109 points.

Rounding out the top 10 are Bombers Dyson Heppell and Brent Stanton, as well as Demon James Magner.

Magner remains on Melbourne's rookie list, although the long-term injury to teammate Max Gawn opens the door for him to be added to the senior list.
