Camel rides and four-wheel drive desert sand dune bashing gave the Crows an eventful end to their first day in Dubai.

A convoy of 27 vehicles took the travelling party an hour into the desert near Dubai, where the drivers released some air from the tyres before giving the group some thrills by powering up, down and across the sand dunes for almost two hours.

After stopping to meet a group of racing camels – and nearly losing Kris Massie when he tried to sit on a grumpy camel – the drive continued to a desert camp where the players and coach Neil Craig had camel rides, surfed the dunes and played beach volleyball.

A barbecue dinner and bellydancing performance completed the evening before the convoy enjoyed some night sand dune driving on the way back to Dubai.
