COLLINGWOOD coach Mick Malthouse has denied wayward forward Alan Didak has recently been involved in discussions regarding his future at the club.
An article in Tuesday's The Age suggested Didak had separate meetings with Malthouse and club president Eddie McGuire, to apologise for his involvement in Heath Shaw's alcohol-fuelled car accident early last month.
It was reported Didak has pleaded with the pair to keep him at the club in 2009.
"That's news to me, so whoever wrote it must either be imagining it or making it up," Malthouse said when questioned on Wednesday.
"Does that answer that question?
"I can tell you categorically, there's been no meeting with Alan Didak in this last week.
"He hasn't been at training because he's got the flu. So we can put that to bed, hey?"
Didak, 25, did not appear at the Magpies' training session at Gosch's Paddock on Wednesday, with Malthouse attributing his absence to illness.
However, he added that he'd like to see Didak return to the track next week, because the Pies would have overcome St Kilda in Saturday night's semi-final at the MCG.
