DAYNE Zorko is sick of losing and says the Brisbane Lions midfield has to stand up and be counted against Collingwood on Saturday night.

Lions coach Justin Leppitsch singled out the midfield following last weekend's drubbing from Port Adelaide, saying they were the worst part of the ground despite being the most experienced.

Zorko agreed, saying they were poor against the Power and would have to rectify that against the under-siege Magpies at the Gabba.

"We're the senior part of the team, the most experienced part of the team, and we probably let each other down and the whole team down by performing the way we did on the weekend," Zorko said.

"Our backline wasn't very strong on the weekend. I think the average games were 40 in the backline.

"For us as midfielders to let them down as well and allow the ball to come in that often was very disappointing.

"We've focused on it this week, we'll train it this week, we'll prepare really well and hopefully play Collingwood and get a win."

In Zorko, Dayne Beams, Pearce Hanley, Daniel Rich and Stefan Martin, the Lions' midfield is not only the most experienced, but also the classiest part of their team.

Against the Power they were punished in clearances (52-34) and particularly in centre clearances (21-9).

Zorko, who has been part of just 30 winning teams in his 87 career games, says he's had enough.

"I'm sick of losing," he said.

"I don't think my strike rate has been very good since I've come into the side.

"But with a young side it's going to be tough.

"Collingwood is obviously a proud club and they'll be thinking what a great opportunity it is to come up to Brisbane and silence the critics.

"It's our job to not let them do that."
